#homekong Hong Kong

Michelin-starred restaurants, unique restaurant concepts, international restaurant franchises --- you've got it all in Hong Kong! I arrived at a time when the city was under a different scene (August 2019 - January 2020), but even with everything that's going on, I have to say that the dining scene was still an absolute experience!

We tried to visit restaurants whenever we can. Here are some of my favourites:

Pici, Pirata Group's Pasta Bar

This would have to be my fave after-work dinner choice! My friend and I dined each week for about a month. And the go-to choice? Their Tasting Menu! For $290pp, a menu for two could get you 2 starters,3 portions of pasta, and 2 desserts (go for the tiramisu!). And for those "What a long day!" sighs, you can definitely count on their wine offerings to pair with your plate.

Our location of choice was always the one in Central, just because it's near our workplace, but they have about 6 shops all around Hong Kong. I love the decor and the ambience especially at peak dinner time.

My faves

1. Pappardelle (beef cheek ragu slow cooked for 8 hours)

2. Tagliolini (fresh shaved black truffle, white truffle paste)

3. Ravioli Carbonara (not in photos; egg yolk, ricotta, pecorino, guanciale)

Louise, JIA Group

Ending the internship with a bang! Our last lunch in the city was made perfect by Louise! Located in Soho and set in a heritage-listed house, serving French cuisine, amazing desserts, cocktails, and wine.

And of course, for dessert, my absolute favorite millefeuille.

The meal was nothing short of amazing.
